BOSTON--First it was goaltender Corey Crawford who parted ways with Chicago, not because he wanted to, ahead of the 2020-2021 season. While Seabrook didn't know it at the time, December 15th, 2019 would be his final NHL game, due to injuries. Following that season, longtime defensive partner Duncan Keith, signed with Edmonton after sixteen seasons with Chicago.

Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews were bound to be the final two, and they were.

Last season, became the first time that not one player on Chicago's roster had played on a cup-era Blackhawks team (2010,13,15), marking the unofficial end of the era for the Blackhawks.

Then the Blackhawks came calling to Teuvo Teravainen on July 1st. This marks the now veteran's second tenure with Chicago. He spent part of two seasons developing in Rockford, Chicago's AHL affiliate. The 2015-2016 season became his first in the NHL, with Chicago. He posted 13 goals and 22 assists for 35 points in 78 regular season games.

Much-needed offense has arrived for Chicago, as last season he placed 25 goals and 28 assists for 53 points in 76 regular season games with Carolina—an increase from the 37 points the year before.

“I don’t even know if he remembers me or knows that that guy that picked him up is the same person that signed him now. We shared a couple of meals out together; He didn’t know anyone, so I was giving him the lay of the land. He’s 29 [now]. Holy jeez. That’s, for me, where it feels like, ‘OK, I’ve been around a little while, too.’ The years have gone by so fast that you lose track.”

Chemsitry is building between the veteran nicknamed "Turbo", and cornerstone Connor Bedard, throughout training camp. The pair played on a line together last night for the first of six preseason outings.

For Teravainen last night, it became the first of many that he would skate out of the tunnel of the United Center; on the right side, of the tunnel. It certainly brought the veteran back to "the good old days."

"It was cool for sure, doing the warmups again. To see the fans, It felt like the old days." He spoke on playing with the highly touted Connor Bedard: "Small little things we have to do whenever we get the puck in the O zone, quick passes, one of the only good things we did today."

Teravainen, 30, aims to help Hawks rookies develop, specifically in their identities. He was in a similar spot forward to Philip Kurashev back in 2014. He'll be a mentor to him this season.

While he doubles as one of the top forwards for Chicago, for the die-hards fans, it gives one last glimpse to the 2015 roster, their good old days, with Kane, Toews, Keith, Seabrook, and Corey Crawford.
