Frustration bounces between Brunette and veterans amid four-game loosing streak

NASHVILLE--Andrew Brunette distinctly called out Predators' veterans postgame, after falling 4-1 to St Louis on Thursday.
Nashville has lost four straight, with as many goals in four games.
" We got a lot of (veteran guys) who haven't been in this situation before," Brunette said Thursday following a 4-1 loss to St Louis.
"We have to handle ourselves with a little bit more professionalism than they are right now. I think mentally it's a drain, it's hard. But they are going to be here a long time. They have a lot of time on their contracts. For them, I think it's important for them to set the example for our young guys."
Brunette admittingly made the point that with the finish line in sight, and nothing to play for, it's not a surprise why play has lacked as of late.
"The finish line is around the corner, and it's hard. I feel for the players, it's not a fun time to play when there is nothing to play for...It's really hard."
Now five points shy of elimination from playoff contention, looking for a "will to play" remains the top focus for Brunette.
Off-ice frustration has begun to reflect during games for the Predators. Eight out of the top ten highest penalty minutes per game have come since the beginning of February.
Following morning skate today, he was asked to elaborate on the comments from Thursday.
"I'm not knocking our team for attitude, and it was never meant to come across that way. I think we're in a hard spot. I've been in that spot (as a player), and I think it's important you handle yourself the right way. That's all, that was the message."
