Icehogs Sign Fitzgerald to AHL-Contract

Fitzgerald was originally on a PTO deal.

ROCKFORD— The Icehogs today signed vet-defender Cavan Fitzgerald to a SPC (standard player contract) through the remainder of the 24/25 season. Fitzgerald was originally on a PTO tryout agreement with Rockford.

Fitzgerald has appeared in both of Rockford’s first two games, scoring a goal in their home opener. On Friday’s game against Milwaukee, Fitzgerald sported the “A” on his jersey.

A two-way defender, Fitzgerald figures to continue to be a veteran anchor on Rockford’s young and developing blue line. He has seen ice time with both Colin Felix and Austin Strand and will probably continue seeing himself in different pairs as Rockford juggles their young and cramped defensive grouping.
