The Icehogs search for a much needed win tonight against the Gulls. In the last 10 games, Rockford has only won 2. Even worse, in the 10 games, the Icehogs have scored more than 2 goals only twice. That has us asking, what can Rockford do differently? A key for the Icehogs scoring is converting on the power play. Something that has been a struggle this season. Ranking 11th worst going into tonight's game sitting at 16.7%, the power play will need to generate more scoring than it has so far this season. Puck drop again, is at 9:00 PM CDT.
Wednesday night, it was Cates who scored the Hogs lone goal (assisted by Dach). Cates is really finding his stride with the Icehogs since signing on a PTO (Professional Tryout Offer). He has 2 goals and 2 assists in 4 games with the Icehogs. Prior to joining the squad, he was with Bridgeport, where he put up only 1 goal and 1 assist in 12 games. The Gulls will have their eye on him tonight. He's our player to watch for the game.
In goal we will see Drew Commesso, who is looking to get out of his own personal slump. While he has a .893 SV% on the season, in his last 6 games he has a .877 SV%. Drew is looking to get his first win since November 22nd. Exactly one month ago today.
For the rest of the squad, lines will look like the following:
Katchouk-Seeney-Gust
Hardman-Cates-Dach
Telpy-Luypen-Rolston
Baddock-Saarela-Kindopp
Allen-Perrott
Del Mastro-Strand
Healey-Maniscalco
Commesso
Stauber
As for the Gulls player to watch, we look in goal to Tomas Suchanek who has an incredible .929 Sv and a 2.00 GAA in 6 games for the Gulls (4-1-1). Clang played spectacular vs the Hogs Wednesday night, Suchanek looks to do the same.
The Gulls lines will look like this tonight:
De Leo-Agozzino-Perreault
Nesternko-Gawdin-King
Tracey-Gaucher-Caulfield
Carrick-Helleson
Zellweger-White
Wolff-Hinds
Suchanek
Clang
I'll have the postgame analysis sent out tomorrow morning at 8:30 CDT. For Icehogs Network, I'm Anthony Pellegrino. Grab a cup of coffee; it's a late one. Enjoy the game Icehogs fans.
