With NCAA D1 hockey now at the midseason break, let's take a look at the conferences and where teams are standing right now vs their preseason ranking by USCHO.com

Notable Teams:
Michigan State surged to 1st place, up from 4th in the preseason, reflecting a strong early season.
Boston College held steady in 2nd place in both rankings.
Minnesota moved up from 6th in the preseason to 3rd, showing strong early performance.
Maine significantly rose, climbing from 12th to 4th, indicating strong results.
Denver, preseason #1, dropped to 5th, showing a slight dip in form.
Western Michigan and Providence made substantial jumps, with Western Michigan moving from 17th to 6th and Providence from 13th to 7th.
UMass Lowell entered the top 10, after being unranked in the preseason.
Boston University and North Dakota fell from the top five in the preseason to 13th and 15th, respectively.
St. Cloud State remained relatively steady, moving from 16th to 12th.
New Additions to the Top 20:
Dartmouth and Clarkson entered the top 20, showing strong early performances.
Teams That Dropped Out of the Top 20:
Wisconsin, Omaha, Minnesota Duluth, Massachusetts, and Northeastern fell out of the top 20 from the preseason rankings, indicating struggles in their play.
