Earlier in the year, it was announced that the Chicago Blackhawks would not renew their contract with NBC Sports. In a joint move with the Chicago Bulls and Chicago White Sox, the teams will merge to Launch CHSN (Chicago Sports Network) later this fall.
The Blackhawks Pregame and Postgame show will be affected by the change. The setting may look different, as well as the personalities behind the mic to start up and wind down Blackhawks Broadcasts. With the news, comes uncertainty for who will be behind the mic next season handling Pregame and Postgame airings.
Today, via Twitter, it was announced by fan favorite Pat Boyle himself that he would be back covering the Blackhawks shows, for his thirteenth NHL Season. There has been no news about his partners in Charlie Roumeliotis, Stu Grimson, and Caley Chelios, traditionally Boyle has been the anchor and that will not change.
Boyle has worked with the Blackhawks broadcasting crew since 2004, as the Pregame and Postgame anchor and host. Prior to working with the Blackhawks, he attended Michigan State University before getting his first run with ESPN in 2000. Alongside the Blackhawks, Pat also serves on the Pro Football Weekly Show.
I was keeping my fingers crossed (praying/hoping) he would return, now I hope the same for Charlie Roumeliotis as well !!! John Scott (no holds barred) & Grimson (telling the real truth) were both great when filling in!!! Sorry Caley too much of a kiss-ass to give an honest view/comment (🙁). Looking forward to the season & the New CHSN & great for the Chicago teams involved !!!
